The Challenge

01

Lindner College of Business students needed a better way to get information from the school. University stakeholders previously built their student application on Service Portal and wanted to enhance the experience for their students on the go. Enrolled students and prospects needed one point of access to easily find information about the university and academic resources.

The Solution

We enhanced the student experience by creating the Lindner College of Business mobile app. We recommended a portion of the app publicly display parking information, tours, and directories for family, visitors, and potential prospects. The app can pull content from multiple sources and display updates from the university website. Students can access their class schedule, search faculty and resource directories, message advisors, and submit requests.

Enhancements

Content Delivery Framework Feature for the Thermo Fisher HR Service Portal on ServiceNow

Public side of the App

The mobile app supports both authenticated and non-authenticated users and is available for download in the app store. Public information such as parking information, virtual tours, staff directories, and university news can be easily accessed by parents, family members, and potential prospects.

Unrestricted ServiceNow Content

We provided a single, common user experience for all users. Information had to be diverse and display more than just ServiceNow content. We integrated multiple API’s from the UC website to condense information and structure content. This allows content to be updated from multiple content sources and web properties managed by the university.

Multi-portal Strategy Feature for the Thermo Fisher HR Service Portal on ServiceNow

Improve Usability for Students

The Lindner College of Business mobile app makes student life easier. Class schedules, important due dates, and registered events are automatically uploaded to the student's calendar after sign on. The services directory provides information about events and organizations through a filtered search. Students can also search for university staff, message their advisors, and submit ticket requests.
